Djemi Lazare once lost everything she treasured to addiction. After battling with SUD for over a decade, she embarked on a new journey. Today she identifies as a strong black woman in long term recovery. Djemi stumbled into Revive Recovery Center in early recovery, and was positively impacted.  She began receiving services by way of recovery coach sessions which offered her life and social skills that she didn’t find in a 12-step program. Shortly thereafter she started volunteering at Revive as she developed a rewarding relationship with this recovery center. Upon successful completion of her short-term goals her recovery coach referred her to Harbor Homes Recovery Corps, an AmeiCorps program. As a member, Djemi organized activities for the Syringe Service Alliance of the Nashua Area, which provides comprehensive harm reduction services. She coordinated access to sterile supplies and safe disposal of used syringes. She promoted harm reduction as a recovery pathway to SSANA clients. In her current role, at Harbor Care Health and Wellness Center, she facilitates groups and provides one-on-one support and resources to individuals to improve present life and future goals. She is a skilled communicator and recovery coach. She is diligent in encouraging change, growth and transformation in individuals by providing peer-based recovery support. Djemi is committed to recovery and giving back to her community.
