She is the founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit R.E.A.C.H. OUT Project in Connecticut and the owner of Carol Cruz Coaching. Carol is a Connecticut Regional Lead for the Recovery Advocacy Project and Co-chair for the Inclusivity Caucus, a new initiative launched at Mobilize Recovery 2020, to increase the presence of members who identify as BIPOC and LGTBQQIA+. The Inclusivity Caucus commitment is to build bridges and intentional safe spaces to end racial and discriminatory injustice and mobilize toward ensuring equitable access to addiction recovery support where resources are lacking for marginalized communities.

Carol is a seasoned peer mentor, community advocate, and mental health and harm reduction facilitator. She works closely with leadership teams and organizations to foster healthy, collaborative working relationships for peers and clinical staff. She believes there is a greater connection, fulfillment, and success that comes from the art of coaching, which can create sustainable transformation. Carol is driven by her own recovery journey and personal development, which has transformed the way she lives, works, and leads.
